Vojtech Gadurek

General info

Hi, my name is Vojtech. I like math and programming. Math is wonderful, when discrete and programming when the code is neat and serves its purpose.

However, this world is not only mathematics but offers much more.  I believe that serving and helping others is very important.  Making mistakes is fine, however one needs to learn lesson from them.

Studies

Currently, I am a first-year master's student at Matfyz, studying Discrete Algorithms and Models (Computer Science very close to Applied Math).

I completed my bachelor's degree in General Computer Science in 2024. My thesis was on Data Structures for Dynamic Sets.  An interesting topic with applications in Bioinformatics. Together with my supervisor Pavel Vesely, we improved the current state of art by more than 2 times.

From September 2021 to September 2022, I studied Law. I graduated from PORG (highest rank highschool in the country) in 2021.

Study Interests

I particullary like C# and .NET. In mathematics, I enjoy Complexity Theory and Streaming.

Volunteering

I organize two math seminars, M&M and PraSe, to help high school students learn tough math ideas and improve in advanced math. Each year, I also plan and run two math camps for each seminar, creating hands-on activities that make learning math exciting and fun.

At my university, I’m part of the academic senate, where I speak up for student needs and work to improve policies that help the student community.

Every summer, I work as a counselor at children’s camps. I help kids build teamwork, confidence, and a love for adventure. Through these roles, I aim to spark curiosity, support learning, and connect with young learners.

Hobbies

Running, Frisbee, Ringo, Law, Theater, and finally quality humor.
